I have been a veterinarian since graduating from Michigan State University in 1989 and opened Bayshore Veterinary Hospital in 1993. I also have been both a race veterinarian and a musher since 1994. Having a kennel of sled dogs, I have raced my dogs in Europe, Canada, the lower 48, and Alaska, along with 16 times in the UP200. I also began Dr. Tim's Pet Food in 2004, which we donate to be used at UPAWS for the animals fed at the local shelter. My wife and I have 18 retired sled dogs now, along with 2 house dogs, 2 cats, and 2 granddaughters who live close enough to visit nearly every day.
